I wanted to make a piece about harboring a family member's deep secret, and being the only one to know about it over a great number of years. At times I feel like it's a great weight, at times I forget I even know. The heaviest part is mustering the strength to keep the secret from other members of the family. Inversely difficult, it's a constant reminder how they can't handle knowing it due to underlying judgmental tendencies rooted in fear and convention. The twist is, I'm looked upon as a strong confidant when I actually feel my knees buckle under the sad weight that our family can't be open, accepting, and unconditionally loving of one another yet.

Comes with Sculpturing, Hand Blown Glass Cloche Dome, Black Engraved Base with Armature, Travel Pouch, and Signed, Numbered, Dated, Fingerprinted Documentation, and Original Framed Rendering/Sketch.

Created for the solo show "The Spinster & The Carpenter" at Twilight Gallery in Seattle.
