*Inspired by Jopling & Deputy Kovacs in “The Grand Budapest Hotel”: the 2 bronze knuckledusters resemble those which Jopling wears throughout the film. Each skull contains the initials of a character Jopling murdered as well as a symbol of that death. Serge’s Sister: SS/decapitiation by knife, Madame D: MD/poisoned, JGJopling, Esq.: JGJ/fallen off cliff, Serge X: SX/strangulation by rosary, Deputy Kovacs: DK/fingers severed and stabbed, Persian Cat: PC/thrown out of window, R: R/artist’s makers mark, JGJopling, Esq.: JGJ/fallen off cliff. Piece also contains 4 cast aluminum severed fingers “Severings” representing Deputy Kovacs.
